At the Senior Lecturer Level, a PhD is essential. The successful candidate will have a record of scholarship/teaching and be research active in Applied Mechanics. S/he will conduct and supervise research at all levels. The successful candidate will have a proven record of interactions with industry and the profession. A record of substantial research funding will be advantageous.The successful candidate at any level will have a good knowledge of the basic material pertaining to undergraduate Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering courses, and the background to be able to be registered as a Professional Engineer, if not already registered in South Africa.
