The HPP hasbeen involved in studies of HIV-1 immunopathogenesis for over 15 years.The HPP has a Research Technician position available. The incumbent will be required to be highlymotivated, meticulous and hard-working and be able to work independently. The incumbents willreport to the Laboratory Manager / Research Scientist.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBSc (Honours) degree in Biomedical fieldHands-on experience in general molecular biology techniques, including DNA/RNA extraction,

Responsibilities + Skills

Assisting senior researcher and team with experiments, quality control and data verificationUndertake general sample processing of HIV positive blood samplesPreparation of reagentsPerform human tissue culture experiments

Education

Hands-on experience with tissue culture techniquesExperience working with human samplesMSc degree in a related fieldExperience using Graph Pad Prism

Experience

Minimum one-year experience working in a biomedical research laboratoryFamiliarity with biomedical research laboratory procedures and safety requirementsGood computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
