AEES08-2019 Technician (GIS) Grade10

Job Description

The School has active research and teaching programmes at the Durban and
Pietermaritzburg Centres with a strong emphasis in postgraduate training. The incumbent
will provide technical support for teaching and research in the School, through practical
and tutorial assistance to undergraduate and post-graduate students; and all
Geographic information Systems and Remote Sensing (GIS/RS) services in Geography.
S/he will provide basic GIS/RS software support and advice to Geography as well as
providing digital scanning and image processing support to Geography. S/he will assist
the Principal Technician (GIS/RS) on an ad hoc basis and help with general tasks within
the school.

The incumbent will report to the Principal Technician (GIS/RS): Durban

Three year relevant tertiary qualification with GIS/RS specialization or InformationSystemsTwo years relevant work experience
