The successful candidate should be able to assist the legal and compliance department with all relevant and necessary AML work for the branch which includes but not limited to: AML monitoringTraining of business department on AML as well as other regulations as they become necessaryAML projects as they become relevant etc.Creating awareness at the branch of updated AML information, eg. From legislations/regulation/media/regulators etc.Liaising with regulators to the extent necessary in execution of dutiesLiaising with departmental heads on various legislative compliance matters as they become necessaryPerforming regulatory analysis on impact to bank when there are changes to legislations, new legislations etc.Providing guidance to business when requiredAssisting with reportingDrafting of the compliance report by requesting input from the various departmentDraft AML related policy and procedure manual, provide guidance to business departments on AML, Due Diligence, transaction monitoring etc.
Responsibilities + Skills
Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of risks having worked in an Anti-Money Laundering role/background would be preferableKnowledge of AML, FICA and other high-risk legislations affecting the banking environment required
Bachelors degree or equivalentAdmitted Attorney preferable
Report writing essentialGeneral compliance/risk experience in a compliance role of three to five years required
