The University of KwaZulu–Natal is one of the top Universities in South Africa and in the

top 500 Universities globally. The School of Life Sciences has a long-standing tradition in

research and teaching in Zoology, particularly in the areas of terrestrial vertebrate

ecology, physiology, behaviour and conservation, and hosts the DST/NRF South African

Research Chair Initiative (SARChI) Chair in Ecosystem Health and Biodiversity in KwaZulu-

Natal and the Eastern Cape.

Responsibilities + Skills


The incumbent will provide leadership and added strength to the Schools research andteaching programmes in these areas on the Pietermaritzburg campus. S/he will beexpected to contribute to teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as wellas to the administration within the School. S/he will also be expected to supervise
