The School offers a vibrant educational and research environment in Chemistry

and Physics. The South African Research Chair in Quantum Information Processing

and Communication hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal, funded by the

DST and administered by the NRF resides in the School. Currently, the research of

the Chair is focused around open quantum systems, quantum information

processing, cold atoms, and quantum optics.

Responsibilities + Skills

Education

A current and sustained research record of publications in quality peer-reviewed ISI/SAPSE accredited journals, appropriate for the level appointmentSuccessful supervision of postgraduate research students (MSc and/or PhD) ina relevant field of study

Experience

A relevant Doctoral degreeExperience in teaching at a tertiary institutionDemonstrated ability to attract research funds
