Job Description

The College of Health Sciences is calling for expression of interests from currentmembers of staff to an acting appointment against the position of Dean: CollegeResearch. The duration of acting appointment is for a period of 6 (six) months or untilthe post is filled, whichever is the earliest.The Dean: College Research shall provide academic leadership and coordinateresearch and postgraduate training in the College, aligned to the university researchagenda. S/he shall formalise collaboration across schools in the College and as amember of the Research Strategy Group shall be responsible for developing policyand ensuring consistent implementation of centrally agreed decisions and strategicinitiatives.The incumbent reports to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Head of College as wellas liaises with the DVC: Research through a dotted line function and is responsible forinstitutional level activities such as policy and strategy development and evaluationon behalf of the College.
