The central purpose of this role is to build and sustain relationship and reputational capital with key stakeholders applicable to this portfolio (sustainability and ESG) through engagement on strategic and contentious issues, thereby enabling Sasol to resolve these in a pro-active fashion. This is done through a process of:
Identification and engaging relevant stakeholders at senior level, understanding their needs and expectations with the aim of promoting win-win solutions;
Ensuring that stakeholder identification, engagement and dialogue, as well as issue resolution is aligned with and supports the execution of Sasol's sustainability and ESG strategy;
Partnering with relevant business units and departments to advance key business issues requiring resolution;
Conducting stakeholder analysis, developing messaging and executing communication and/or supporting executive management in engagements with stakeholders applicable to this portfolio;
Identifying key interventions required to improve stakeholder health particularly trust levels;
Pro-actively identifying events and initiatives that could contribute to constructive relationships with Sasol’s stakeholders;
Reporting on engagement effectiveness;
Protecting and enhancing Sasol’s reputation with stakeholders in line with the company’s strategic objectives.

Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of Sasols strategy and determine the interface priorities and issues that need to be addressed with stakeholders;Identifying stakeholders, maintaining contact and analysing their perceptions of Sasol, their needs and priorities with respect to the Group;
With Safety, Health and Environment as top priority the incumbent ensures that these elements are considered and included in advice, services as well as the development and implementation of solutions;In terms of the Sasol value of Caring for Our People and Support Their Development, opportunities for building understanding and capacity for digitilisation in the area are continuously identified, and interventions launched
