Transactional Products & Services; This team is constantly working to extend our service capability and product range, consolidating our operations in established markets while expanding and extending in emerging markets. We divide our core capabilities into three product groups – Investor Services, Transactional Banking and International Trade Services.

Job Purpose

Lead the Payments and Receivables business for Transactional Products and Services (TPS) South Africa and ensure that the appropriate strategy is formulated, communicated and operationalised.

Manage the Payments and Receivables continuum to maximise revenues and profitability in line with objectives of TPS SA. Coordinate and influence the payments and collection value chain to deliver the product capability in line with the objectives of the TPS SA business and within the required regulatory and risk frameworks.

Represent the payments and receivables business in TPS SA, Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) and Standard Bank Group forums. Influence and drive the transformation of the payments and receivables business in terms of product capability, technology, operating model, delivery channels and value proposition to ensure continuous innovation and sustainability of the payments and receivables business.

Responsibilities + Skills

Ensure delivery of revenues and net earnings through delivery of an appropriate range of Payments and Receivables products to the existing and targeted client base, working with and through the various enterprise teams.Champion strategic initiatives (be it in CIB, PBB or Wealth) and navigate the landscape to land the vision of Payments and Receivables as an enterprise capability.


Articulate and set the strategic direction and business objectives for Payments and Receivables function for TPS SA, in line with the Design Principles of Client Centricity, Single Cost of Ownership, Viewing Payments and Receivables as a Continuum, Optimised Total Cost of Ownership and Clear Risk Accountability.Institutionalize an Income statement for the TPS SA Payments and Receivables business, including socialization and roll-out to CIB, PBB and Wealth; embedding the concept of Entry/Exit pricing for Payments and Receivables across the Universal Financial Services Organisation.
