Overview A leading private hospital situated in the Northern Suburbs is seeking a Patient Safety & Infection Control Manager to be responsible for the risk management of the facility.Key Responsibilities:Take full responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of a functional infection prevention and control programme.To ensure that clinical risks related to infection prevention and control are identified, managed and controlled. Investigate, interpret and analyse available data and initiate, implement and maintain quality improvement projects to improve processes and clinical outcomes.To provide support to the hospital regarding patient safety matters in the absence of a Patient Safety Manager.Identify training needs and assist with the development and facilitation of training related to infection prevention and control.To ensure adherence to the relevant clinical statutory bodies.
Responsibilities + Skills
Experience in a specialised unit will be an advantage.Proven experience and competence in the implementation of an Infection Prevention and Control programmeWillingness to occasionally work after-hours
Education
Registered as a Professional Nurse with SANC with at least 5 years experience in the healthcare industry.A formal qualification or experience in infection prevention and control is required/recommended.
