Instrumentation (X-Ray Diffractometer

Job Description

The incumbent will oversee the organisation, preparation and administration of the

Honours laboratory in addition to operating and maintaining the X-Ray diffractometers

and other general analytical instrumentation (as required). S/he will analyse and collect

data via the use of these instruments. S/he will also provide a service for

departments/units within the University, industry and tertiary institutions.

The incumbent must have an awareness of hazards and safety requirements relevant to

the working environment. S/he must possess a high level of computer skills and

experience, together with experience of data processing and analysis.

The incumbent will report to the Manager, Technical Operations.

Responsibilities + Skills

Two years relevant work experience in the operation of X-Ray and generallaboratory management, inclusive of experiential training gained during postgraduate studiesShort-listed candidates may be required to undergo a skills test.
