The School of Health Sciences wishes to fill an academic post. The Candidate is expectedto actively contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and learning, researchand community engagement within the Discipline of Optometry. The Candidate will also berequired to carry out administrative and university service duties.

All applicants must have an undergraduate degree in Optometry from an accreditedinstitutionA relevant Masters degree is required at lecturer levelCurrent Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa as anOptometrist.


At least 2 years of professional practice experience as an OptometristAppropriate clinical experience in line with departmental needs; particularlycandidates with expertise in the areas of Optical Dispensing and Visual Science willbe considered
