The School of Therapeutic Sciences hosts 5 Departments, including the Department of Nursing Education. The School has an excellent research record and support system for the personal development of academic staff.The ‘New Generation of Academics’ Programme (nGAP)The nGAP aims to assist with academic staffing transformation and capacity needs at South African universities, and involves the establishment of permanent academic posts through a 6-year comprehensive development and induction programme. Through this programme, Nursing Education is able to offer a developmental post as follows:LECTURER (GRADE AC.08)The School seeks to appoint an individual who will be encouraged and supported to pursue further studies whilst acquiring the necessary skills to become a productive and accomplished academic. The skills to supervise will be developed over time as necessary.
Responsibilities + Skills
Relevant Masters degreeIT skills and experience in e-learning/online teaching will be an advantage
Education
Honors or equivalent degree in nursingRegistration with the SANC an absolute necessity (as a nurse, midwife, psychiatric nurse, community health nurse and/or tutor).
Experience
A minimum of three years appropriate teaching experienceAppropriate clinical experience
