Job Description
The incumbent will manage the Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing(RS) and Cartographic technical functions in the Geography and Environmental Sciencesclusters including managing GIS/RS technical staff, the GIS/RS LAN and associated facilitiesand equipment (including operation and maintenance). S/he will be required to provideexpert support and training to staff and students on all aspects of the School’s GIS/RSlaboratories. In addition s/he will be expected to assist in the provision of GIS, RS, andcartographic services to the School. S/he should have strong interpersonal qualities toenable the interaction with under- and post-graduate students and academic andsupport staff members.The incumbent will report to the Technical Manager Operations: DBN.
Responsibilities + Skills
Strong practical and theoretical working experience in GIS, Remote Sensing and GPSKnowledge of Windows, data management, imaging LANs and digitizing
