Job Description

The School seeks a dynamic, self-motivated and innovative individual committed to
quality teaching, research and community engagement in Agricultural Economics. The
successful applicant will join a dedicated team of academic staff in Agricultural
Economics, and should have a major interest in the economics of commercial farming
and expertise in operations research and econometric techniques. S/he will be expected
to lead Agricultural Economics by providing vision, academic leadership and research
excellence. Responsibilities will include curriculum development, teaching and
supervising students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, furthering the
development of a dynamic Agricultural Economics research programme at the
postgraduate level, attracting research funding, contributing to community engagement
activities, and performing academic administrative duties.

The incumbent will report to the Dean and Head of School.

Responsibilities + Skills

A PhD in Agricultural EconomicsExperience in teaching at a tertiary institutionA current and sustained research publication record in peer-reviewed ISI/DoHET

Education

Successful supervision of MSc and PhD studentsDemonstrated ability to attract external research fundsEvidence of strong academic leadership
