ASENZE CRHEARLY IDENTIFICATION OF NEUROCOGNITIVE IMPAIRMENT (NCI) IN ADOLESCENTSIN SECONDARY SCHOOL IN KWAZULU-NATALThe study seeks to test the feasibility of using ‘NeuroScreen’, an innovativeneurocognitive assessment tool, to detect NCIs related to neurodevelopmentaland learning disorders among adolescents in under-resourced schools throughpiloting the implementation of the tool within selected schools in KwaZulu-Natal.The study will work closely with the Department of Basic Education.The study looks to appoint a Project Co-Ordinator who will work with PrincipalInvestigators as part of a multi-disciplinary team to assist with pilot design, manageand conduct project implementation and administration, and contribute toanalysis of findings.This study is a supplement to the greater Asenze Study of Risk and Protection inAdolescence located in the Centre for Rural Health within the School of Nursingand Public Health at the University of KwaZulu-Natal with partners including theUniversity of Columbia and National Institutes of Health (NIH).Some of the responsibilities of this position are: managing ethics processes, pilotingof Neuroscreen in selected schools, mapping referral systems and networks able tosupport learners identified with NCI, and assist in the development of workshopmaterial to introduce implementation science approaches in global health tograduate students and staff. As well as assisting with other matters arising from thegreater Asenze Project.This position is based at The Centre for Rural Health, University of KwaZulu-Natal.Minimum Requirements:• Masters degree in Research Pyschology, Educational Psychology, orsimilar.• 5 years relevant experience in a research environment that must include:o At least 2 years of experience at project coordinator level• Knowledge of the administration and/or analysis of cognitive assessments• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word• Fluency in isiZulu and English• Valid Drivers LicenseAdvantages:• PhD degree in Research Pyschology, Educational Psychology, or similar
