Job Description

The Project Manager will be working with an international research team studying the Incidence

of Psychosis in the Msunduzi Municipality. The PSYMAP-ZN Study team will aim to identify all

incident cases of psychosis in an area of the municipality over two years, and study the social,

economic and environmental risk factors of psychosis. The Project Manager will coordinate the

day-to-day activities of the multi-disciplinary team. S/he will be responsible for coordinating the

activities of a trans-disciplinary research team from South Africa, the UK, the Netherlands and the

USA. The research team is looking for someone with good work ethic, good organizational and

interpersonal skills. The person would also need to have an interest in research and have high

ethical values. The Project Manager will be based predominantly at Town Hill Hospital.

Responsibilities + Skills

Fluency in isiZuluExperience in working with multiple partnersDiploma in Project Management


Masters in Psychology/Public Health or equivalent degree


5 years experience in research project managementValid South African drivers license
