The Discipline of Public Health Medicine (Cancer Research Project) is seeking a dynamic andexperienced individual to fill the position of Project Officer for the Multinational Lung Cancer ControlProgram in Sub-Saharan Africa (MLCCP) project (KZN-South Africa Site). The ideal candidate shouldbe a self-starter with a high level of initiative and will have to ensure that the activities implemented atthe UKZN project sites for the phase II of the Multinational Lung Cancer Control Program (MLCCP) arerolled out as needed. The candidate will primarily be based at the Discipline of Public Health Medicine,at Howard College Campus.

Responsibilities + Skills

Data analysis experienceKnowledge of patients rights as well as legal and ethical issues in health/medicalresearch


Masters degree in Public Health/Medical Sciences/Psychology/Social SciencesTwo years of research experience in Public Health or related fields.Proficiency in Microsoft office suite, including MS Word and Excel.


Experience in quality control and quality assurance activities.Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques used in the field of research.The post reports to Dr KW Hlongwana. Enquiries may be addressed to
