Job Description

The purpose of the job is primarily to drive the ICS Division toward itsoverarching objective of compliance with the UKZN IT Strategy. ICS is clientcentric and a singular team with no silos, which means that as aneed/gap/crisis arises in any part of the team, all team members are requiredto make time available to support the area of the team that is needed.Principal Systems Consultants ensure the optimal provisioning of ICS services tothe UKZN Community. They provide functional & process leadership, areresponsible for self-management and supervise other experienced systemconsultants in their expert stream.They supervise less experienced system administrators and provide technicalexpertise while interfacing with Client Services and Application Developmentteams. They research, design, consult with industry experts and provide industryleadership in innovative design of leading edge technology implementing thisin the largest environment of its kind in the province and at a world classstandard.
