Job Description

The Research Assistant will be working with an international research team studying the Incidenceof Psychosis in the Msunduzi Municipality. The PSYMAP-ZN Study team will aim to identify allincident cases of psychosis in an area of the municipality, and study the social, economic andenvironmental risk factors. The research team is looking for someone with good work ethic, goodorganizational and interpersonal skills. The person would also need to have an interest in researchand have high ethical values. The research assistant will be based predominantly at Town HillHospital.

Responsibilities + Skills

Degree in Psychology/Social Science /enrolled nurse or equivalent1 year previous experience as a Research assistantEvidence of working with word-processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, email and


recruit patients, collect and enter datatranslate (verbal/written) where necessary relating to the study protocoladminister questionnaires and conduct structured interviews with patients, controls andfamily members
