You will be leading and motivating a dedicated and experienced team, executing the broader Omni-Channel strategy. You will work closely with the product owner to manage the functional and technical roadmap and ensure the business strategy is delivered and technical debt is kept to a minimum.This is an ideal role for a highly technical leader, who is experienced with delivering complex and mission critical systems, including highly scalable and resilient software in a distributed environment. You should have demonstrated the successful management of multiple development teams, maintaining good working relationships with all stakeholders and supporting teams. The successful applicant will work closely with product managers, other Technical Leads, Software Engineers and Operations in a highly collaborative environment to provide quality software and solutions, while providing the necessary leadership to deliver releases on time.Key focus areas for the role include, people management, software development management, planning (system roadmaps), financial management, vendor management, IT governance, and strategic direction.TFG’s mission is to be the leading fashion lifestyle retailer in Africa whilst growing its international footprint by providing innovative products, creative customer experiences and by leveraging its portfolio of diverse brands to differentiate its offering.
Responsibilities + Skills
Experience with Agile (Scrum & Kanban) methodologies.Able to effectively communicate across teams and roles written and verbal skills.Ability to effectively communicate with and tailor communication to peers, stakeholders, direct reports and senior leadership.
Great leadership experience the ability to inspire and lead teamsHigh levels of maturity, confident to operate independently (as well as within a team) and able to apply good judgment to complex situationsStrong understanding of software development.
Relevant tertiary qualification10+ years total experience as an engineer in a similar environment.5+ years management experience of guiding multiple teams of significant size.
