Job DescriptionKey Performance Areas: • The repair, maintenance and electrical work on overhead cranes; • Routine maintenance and wiring of electrical panels; • The inspection and replacement of defective electrical components in motors, generators and electrical control systems; • Repair and maintenance of electronic crane drives; • Repair and maintenance of thyristor packs; • Basic knowledge of electrical wiring; • Knowledge of safety and environmental tools and equipment; • Ability to work at heights and in restricted spaces; • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems; • Inspects all equipment on regular scheduled basis to meet the requirements of a preventative maintenance program; • Maintains Files and keeps records of all related maintenance activities; • Computer literate; • Ensures the safety of self and others by observing all local and national electrical standards; • Performs any other duties as and when required. Qualification and Skills: • Possess demonstrable leadership qualities; • Willingness to learn and grow; • Qualified trade tested electrician with minimum N3; • Minimum of three years’ experience in crane/factor environment; • Comprehensive knowledge of cranes and their operation; • Good knowledge of programmable logic systems PLC’s; • Good Knowledge of thyristors; • Valid Driver’s License
