Key Responsibilities include the following• Provides financial and business input to the department’s strategic and operational plans.• Administers financial models in order to ensure on-going sustainability and profitability of department.• Participates in the development of revenue, price and cost models, along with other stakeholders.• Participates in developing, together with other stakeholders, alternative revenue streams for the department.• Contributes and administers/supports the annual compilation of the departmental budgets.• Analyses and monitors actual financial performance against budget and where needed initiates remedial action.• Participates in the University’s financial and accounting policy/procedure decision-making process, and ensures the implementation thereof.
Responsibilities + Skills
Implements and maintains appropriate management accounting business processes, and related systems. Advises the Finance Manager on financial matters and represents the Finance section at meetings. Oversees and controls the recording of financial information, which also involves maintaining financial controls, in accordance with the policies and procedures of the University.
Oversees and reports on the management of assets and stock. Conducts and reports on enquiries/investigations.
Facilitate and support the complete sundry debtors and credit management function. Supports a disaster recovery system for all financial -related systems including specific disaster needs.
