A local government services organisation is looking to appoint a Senior Legal Manager. Oversee and facilitate the processes and legal support to entities. Act in an advisory capacity and co-ordinate external legal work for the organisation. A Proven track record in successful Lobbying and Advocacy of critical issues, understanding of The South African Local Government environment and excellent knowledge of South African legislation is required. LLB. Admitted Attorney. A postgraduate degree is desirable. Main job functionProvide legal advice, interpretation, and guidance regarding contracts, regulatory requirements, intellectual property or trademark protection and employment and other contractual matters.Provide legal opinionsEffectively assess the implications of legal and regulatory requirements on technical, product design and operational choices of entitiesProvide legal advice, coordinate and managing external lawyers or legal service providersLiaise and communicate with external counsel, service providers etcManage litigation from the beginning to the end

Education
At least five (5) years experience operating at a senior management level within a medium to large-sized organisation

Experience:Four to six years of operational experience in legal services
