Johannesburg Job DetailsLegal: guidance across all areas and geographies to ensure: every transaction is appropriately negotiated, documented and implemented, losses arising from litigation are minimised, and legal issues carrying negative reputational consequences are avoided.Job PurposeTo draft and negotiate complex bespoke legal agreements. To provide a comprehensive legal advisory service to multiple business areas. To identify, manage and mitigate legal risks in respect of relevant bank products and servicesKey Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesProvide strategic input to and support various business areas in the achievement of their business objectives by proactively managing the provision of legal services:Work in close collaboration with Heads of Legal and other legal managers to define the Standard Bank Group approach to the Legal strategy in a manner that fosters organic growth;Deal with business as usual and unusual concerns in a proactive manner;Take the lead in advising stakeholders in respect of matters of significant legal and reputational impact or risk;Provision of sound legal advice / opinions;Identify inefficiencies and also risks which should appropriately be dealt with by Group Legal and assist with development of a procedure to eradicate, monitor and/or report on these risks;Implement and follow up on the procedure developed, as well as any other procedures which may be required;Conduct negotiations with external parties in a professional manner;
