Operations: a range of essential and complex services to ensure processes across the bank work as effectively and efficiently as possible
To monitor and manage Transaction Product and Services (TPS) Trade Finance and Structured Finance transactions end to end, through effective planning, organising and execution of day to day workflow and risk mitigation to deliver services to clients within South Africa (SA) and support to countries across Africa Region (AR).
Manage the end to end operational execution of TPS SA deals and support countries across AR according to the deal specific approval and conditions precedent, structures, Commercial Papers, legal and security agreements, debt solutions term sheet and relevant terms and conditions to deliver client service.
Manage the operational relationship with clients to resolve deal specific queries within agreed service level agreements (SLAs) across Standard Bank Group (SBG). Monitor all deals based on in-depth understanding of the conditions, structures, models and security and escalate issues impacting SLA’s to management.
Manage approval of initial and subsequent deals through engagement with Head of Trade and the Deal Committee and ensure necessary management authorisation to facilitate execution of deals.
Facilitate deal execution and ongoing monitoring of incoming and outgoing transactions and facility conditions within the product mandate and according to SBG standards to ensure correct administration of all approved structured trades, Escrow accounts, Back to backs, flow of assets over liabilities and commodity finance facilities.
Plan operational transaction workflow 1 to 2 years in advance to provide quick turnaround times on transactions and mitigate operational losses. Track important dates and events relating to each deal to monitor cover ratios, assess margins, reset interest rates, validate insurance requirements, provide input into waivers, amendments and renewal of facility structures to meet client requirements.
Risk, Regulatory, Prudential and Compliance
Maintain adherence to compliance standards through strict monitoring and actioning of all internal controls to manage of all risk aspects and achieve a satisfactory audit.
Maintain accurate and complete client information and records of all legal agreements and Commercial Papers. Capture all information related to orders, quotes and other trade data on the Order Audit Trail System (OATS) in accordance with requirements of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Identify and report fraudulent transactions to ensure compliance and sanctions are adhered to on each transaction within the governance structures and agreements of the country.
