Specialist Economist

Job Description

To lead research in areas of expertise by providing original and useful analysis and economic forecasts for Nedbank's internal and external stakeholders in order to support strategic decision-making and actively raise Nedbank's profile.Short DescriptionFocus on sovereign risk and analysis of developing economies, particularly on Sub Saharan African countries.Economic information in a specific area of expertise and identifying underlying trends as well as potential risks and opportunities.Provide professional inputs and guidance on the global, regional and local economy to the bank's credit committees, various internal and external stakeholders and clients through regular reports and in-depth analysis and research.Support client acquisition by giving business presentations at relevant events.Initiate, lead and manage economic research projects to further the bank's understanding of the global, regional and local economic environment.

Responsibilities + Skills

Ensure compliance by following regulations, policies and procedures, keeping up to date through training, and escalating risk-related matters.Resolve conflicts in external meetings by managing the discussions and being consistent with Nedbank's views.

Education

Lead the team by transferring knowledge, meeting deadlines and providing quality and timely insights.Develop collaborative relationships as a bank representative on various internal and external economic forums.
