Job Description

To process specimens according to set criteria and standards on all benches in the Microbiology Laboratory and to provide training to the employees on all benches. Requirements:HPCSA registration: Independent Practice Microbiology, HPCSA Registration in Relevant Register and Practice Field, National Diploma: Biomedical Technology Required Experience:Experiential training in a training laboratory, Knowledge: Ampath Microbiology document system, Knowledge: HPCSA regulations, Knowledge: Occupational Health and Safety Act (OSHA) Key Responsibilities:Assist with the development and evaluation of new assays when required, Perform accreditation and Quality Control related tasks to ensure standards are upheld, Perform general tasks in order to ensure that best practice is upheld within the laboratory, Perform Materials Management related tasks in order to ensure effective control over stock and to ensure sufficient stock levels at all times, Perform receiving and resulting tasks on the Meditech system in order to ensure correct handling, preparing and recording of specimen and results
