Underwriter (6 Months FTC)

Job Description

The successful candidate will be expected to attend and manage all aspects related to a portfolio of brokers.Provide all stakeholders with effective and efficient personal lines underwriting services according to therequires standards and procedures to retain existing clients and secure new business in the support of thebusiness strategy.WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?Duties and responsibilities:Underwrites policies according to the underwriting guidelinesConduct risk assessments and decide to accept or decline riskRate policies in keeping with underwriting guidelinesGeneral enquiries such as but not limited to cover, products, processes etc.New business, renewals, endorsements and quotesRequest, obtain and/or provide brokers with all required information and/or documentsAnalyse client's portfolioApply effective renewal terms and corrective action on completed or unprofitable policies

Responsibilities + Skills

Education

Matric (Grade 12)FAIS compliantNQF Level 4 qualification in Short-Term InsuranceRegulatory Examination Level 5 (RE5)Minimum of 1 year administrative experienceAt least 2 years experience in personal lines underwriting
