Job Description
Responsible for the overall running of the housekeeping department and supervising of staffCo-ordinate rosters of the housekeeping teamAssign employees their duties and inspect work for conformance to prescribed standard of cleanlinessAssist room attendants in the cleaning of the rooms and public areasKeeping record of inventories, stock to ensure adequate suppliesDo regular room checks for cleanliness and state of repairsReport maintenance issues using the “Maintenance Log” and actionResponsible for all stock takes, stock variances and condemned itemsMake timely and sound decisions with regards to appropriate course of actionConduct training on room types, categories and amenitiesConduct departmental briefingsManage and address issues relating to performance, deal with ill-disciplineConsistently recognize good performanceEstablish open, trusting and caring relationshipsEnsure associates understand and exceed customer expectationsUnderstand and focus on the key drivers of sales, associate and customer satisfaction, profitability and qualitySet performance against best benchmarksBuild positive and productive working relationships with customers, subordinates, peers and superiors and encourage this type of behaviour in othersAdd value through revenue growth and operational efficiency through process improvementDemonstrate emotional stabilityUndertake room checks to follow through on previous orders given and ensure compliance thereto ensure that daily room inspections are conductedRemain calm, confident and dependable during crisisSet clear and measurable goals, objectives and manage results
